I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the recent
experience I had while interacting with the staff of Flair Airlines at Halifax
Stanfield International Airport in Nova Scotia.
On 4th October, my family and I were at the airport
to board our scheduled Flair Airlines flight, F8655, departing from Halifax to Toronto.
Unfortunately, our encounter with one of the airline’s managerial staff left us
deeply disappointed and inconvenienced.
The issue in question pertained to the dimensions of our checked
baggage. A member of the Flair Airlines management team informed us that our
luggage did not conform to the airline’s established criteria and that we would
be required to pay an additional fee for it. We respectfully inquired about the
specifics of the non-compliance and expressed our hesitation to pay the
supplementary fee. Regrettably, the manager’s response was discourteous and
unprofessional.
Despite our efforts to maintain a cooperative and polite
demeanor, the manager displayed blatant rudeness and impatience throughout our
interaction. We proceeded to comply with the manager’s instructions by having
our luggage transferred to a friend who had come to the airport to assist us.
Afterward, we returned to the check-in counter to obtain our boarding passes.
During this process, we also requested the manager’s name, as we intended to
file a formal complaint regarding her behavior.
To our astonishment, the manager’s reaction to our request was
characterized by even greater rudeness and anger. Without seeking our consent
or attempting to resolve the situation amicably, she abruptly called someone
and summarily canceled our flights. This decision left us stranded at the
airport late at night, without any flights or accommodation arrangements.
Our experience with Flair Airlines at Halifax Stanfield
International Airport was profoundly disappointing and distressing, and it
significantly impacted our travel plans. We believe that the conduct of the
airline staff, particularly the manager in question, was wholly unacceptable
and unprofessional.
In light of the above, I kindly request that you investigate
